Savage model 99R in 300 savage.Built in 1954,this rifle is in excellent all original conditon.It retains 98% of the original blue and wood finish.The stock is free of any cracks or damage.The 24" barrel has a mint bore.This rifle has the classic features of the older 99s and the newer features that make it a better hunting rifle today.The older features are the lever safety,brass cartridge counter,factory steel buttplate,case colored lever,and hand checkered walnut stock and forend.The newer features are factory drilled for either a scope or tang sight,jeweled bolt,and factory sling swivels.This is a great all purpose big game rifle in a classic caliber.The 99R was considered Savage's "heavy" rifle.It has a longer and wider forend and a wider stock.A great deer rifle.C&R eligible.
