Description:
Serial #12936, .38 S&W, 3" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome little revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel and retains 85-90% of the original commercial blue finish with fading and freckling throughout, as well as silvering along the exposed edges. The topstrap is maker and retailer marked: “P. WEBLEY & SON, BIRMINGHAM / SOLD BY J.F. KING, DURBAN"; and the Webley trademarks are crisp and clear along either side of the frame. The square-butt, checkered bakelite grips are in very good condition with scattered handling marks, and minor flattening of the points. The barrel lock-up is tight and the mechanism is fully functional. The revolver is housed in an extremely rare, original Webley two-piece box, unnumbered, and in excellent condition with intact labels and corners, and a few spots of minor edge wear and damage on the lid. This is a handsome, South African retailed example of a Webley Mk. IV .38 Revolver, and comes with a very-hard-to-find original box. FFL or C&R
