Description: Serial #62068 (Assembly #51), .22 RF, 6" octagon barrel with a fine, bright, smooth-bore that has a few very small spots of mild freckling along its length. This is a late model pistol with automatic extractor, that has a “G.W. WEBB HIGH St. OXFORD" retailer name along the top of the barrel. The metal retains 80-85% of the original bright finish, mostly along the barrel, with the balance flaked to mottled gray-black patina on the frame, which has the usual Tranter “football" marking on the right side. The checkered walnut grip has small handling marks and blemishes scattered about, with sharp checkering points, and the action lock-up is still tight, without any lateral play. This is the very gun pictured and described on pg. 172 and 173 of “Tranter Cartridge Firearms" by Black, Guerin & Michaud; (2007), and would make a nice addition to any collection of Tranter handguns.
