Description:
I doubt many will ever see one of these historic Western battle guns...I found this over 50 yrs.back while Mt. Hiking-Bushwhacking in the area of Tombstone and to the New Mexican border in the Peloncillo Mts-Skeleton Canyon. You can read some of the history of this area..Apache/US Cavalry/Clanton Fueds w/Federales etc..The rust color difference is apparently due to diff. in Metal...Anyway, i'll relate how I came upon this rusty relic to the buyer. It is missing parts that are obvious..the cocking lever obviously was repaired by a Blacksmith using an old worn Horseshoe..If one looks closely some of the barrel lettering remains barely visible. The action is rusted shut after approx.140yrs. unsheltered. The wood is mostly gone as I only found a small portion neaby where some Human bones were found..mostly scattered and left undisturbed.. Obviously this is a 44cal.CARBINE & NOT a Rifle. This ships to whereever you live in the ConUSA-$45.00-AK/HI a bit more. It is sold AS-IS for obvious reasons. All questions answered.--I have no more photos to offer. I am 8o+ yrs. old and have displayed this in my Library for many decades. Would make an excellent Gift-or your own Bucket list.
