Martini-Enfield Artillery carbine in .303 British caliber. Overall length is 38”. The 21½” round barrel has a fair bore. The barrel has three proof marks on the left side. Barrel and action have approximately 95% arsenal blue refinish. Each side of the action has two proof marks at the front. The right side of the receiver is marked crown/ “V.R./ Enfield/ 1897”. Below is an “A” and either a “C” or “S”, which is only partially stamped. The refinished wood is very good. The action functions correctly. These rifles were not designed for modern ammunition. Do not attempt to fire these rifles. This is an interesting British military carbine.
