Description:
***SOLD*** Winchester Model 1890 (Model 90) .22LR slide action rifle, dated to 1927. This rifle is in Third Model of the 1890, and is stamped Model 90, as the nomenclature changed to Model 90 circa 1919. About 850,000 of these rifles were manufactured, and only 10% of those rifles were chambered in .22LR, as this one is. The rifle features a 24" octagonal barrel, with a smooth straight walnut stock, and grooved walnut forend, with a tube fed slide-action mechanism, as well as a simple takedown mechanism, made famous by old-time shooting galleries. The rifle is in great condition considering it's age, with some areas of finish loss on the receiver, as shown in the photos. The furniture is in excellent shape, and the action is smooth with a great bore. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle. A wonderful example of a very collectible rifle in a scarce chambering!
