Smith & Wesson 38/44 Heavy Duty .38 Special caliber revolver. 5-Screw frame. This is the post war transitional variation. Serial number S72XXX. Approximately 2500 of these revolvers were manufactured from 1946-1950. Bore is perfect. Trigger and hammer have 100% vivid case colors. Action works perfectly. Locks up and indexes perfectly. Revolver has 99% original blue. Barrel length 4". Frame marked “Made in USA". Beautiful .38-44 Heavy Duty! Hard to find in this superior condition.
