Description:
Serial #4980 all matching, .45 S&W, 7 inch barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very handsome revolver that retains 70-75% of the original bright blue finish, with the majority of the loss occurring along the sides of the barrel and around the rear of the cylinder. Some small spots of freckling are mingling with the pewter gray metal, and the hammer and trigger guard have retained a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening. The original walnut grips, numbered to the gun on the interior, are in fine shape with crisp inspector cartouches, and the “US" stamp on the butt is likewise crisp and clear. The lock-up is rock-solid, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a splendid example of a truly desirable S&W, and rates fine-near excellent overall. Antique
