This is a very nice U.S. Military Standard Products M1 Carbine made in 1943 during WW2. This carbine is correct except for the stock. It features the original Underwood barrel dated "10-43". The flat bolt, operating handle, trigger housing, trigger, sear, and hammer are all original WW2 production Standard Products parts. As you can see from the pictures, this M1 carbine is a very good looking weapon with the U.S. arsenal parkerized finish in very good condition overall. The gun shows a consistent level of wear on all of the exposed parts and a very uniform patina. The bore in this carbine is excellent, mirror-bright with sharp rifling throughout the barrel. There is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible.The original RMC stock set is really exceptional on this Standard Products M1 Carbine, and is free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage to the exterior. The buttstock is nicely marked with "RMC" in the sling well of the buttstock, and inside the hand guard. There is no U.S. Arsenal rework stamp or circle "P" on the stock. All of the stock hardware is intact and in great shape, including the recoil plate and steel buttplate. The action on this M1 Carbine is slick and precise, locking into battery smoothly and without any slop in the bolt. All of the controls are in perfect working order, including the two-position flip rear sight and push safety. This Standard Products M1 Carbine should be an excellent shooter in addition to being an excellent investment.
