Description:
Serial #81526, .455 CF, 4 1/2" ribbed barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some spots of very minor freckling along its length. The metal of this handsome, small-hinge revolver has retained about 80–85% of the original brilliant blue finish with flaking to the underlying plum-brown metal at the rear of the frame, and darker freckling along the gripstrap. Silvering is present along the raised edges, and brilliant fire blue can still be seen on the hammer, barrel latches, and trigger. The barrel rib is not retailer marked, but Webley markings are present on the left side. The one-piece walnut grip has numerous minor handling bruises and marks, as well as some mild flattening of the points. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism is fully functional. This very revolver is illustrated on pg. 108 of “Webley Revolvers" by Bruce & Reinhart (1988). This is a fantastic Pryse revolver, in a great small frame size, and rates fine-near excellent condition overall. Antique
