EARLY PRODUCTION Mid-19th Century Spur Trigger
Here we present a Remington New Model Percussion Pocket Revolver, made circa 1865 in Ilion, New York with a production run from 1865 through 1873 and approximately 25,000 revolvers made. This revolver was designed for defensive carry and would have been equally at home in a holster, pocket or purse. With 5 rounds of .31 one could get themselves out of most scrapes. This revolver could have been modified to accept metallic cartridges near the expiration of the Smith & Wesson owned Rollin White Patent, which prevented other companies from using the bored through cylinder until 1869. But it has remained a survivor in its original percussion state.
The overall condition is good. The action functions. The bore is in good shape. Both grips are in good shape, although there is a chip repaired on the right toe. A neat Remington revolver in original percussion!
