Colt "Fitz Special" revolver in rare 38 Caliber . Most of the Fitz Specials where 45 caliber. Serial number 706725 . John Henry Fitz Gerald an Employee of Colt Firearms from 1918 till 1945. It's believed that 40 to 200 Fitz Specials left the Colt Factory , made from various Colt Revolvers by Fitzgerald himself. "The Art of the Gun Fight " these where the prototype for the Snub Nose Colt Detective Special . Gun is in excellent original condition since made by Fitz . Gun has a heavy barrel . Factory Colt grips and Colt Factory sights and parts. Bore and mechanics are excellent plus. Locks up tight . Excellent plus Example of a Rare piece of Colts Factory History !
