Description:
Serial #85468, .455 Eley (Webley), 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This 1915-made revolver retains 80-85% of the original blue finish that has faded to gray at the muzzle, silvered along the raised edges and projections, and faded to a dark plum color on the topstrap. The cylinder has scattered surface scratches and a light turn-ring at the rear with further spots of plum-brown freckling on both sides of the frame. The checkered hard rubber grips are in very good-fine condition with some wear and flattening of the points. Additionally, there is a chip missing from the heel of the left panel. The lock-up is still tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver has British military acceptance proofs, and post-war commercial London proofmarks. This is a great World War I New Service, still in the original .455 chambering, and is in very good plus condition. FFL or C&R
