BURNSIDE CIVIL WAR CARBINE, US CAVALRY
.54 cal., Serial #25089. Early serial number. Oval cartouche on left side. Length of barrel 21", total length 39.5".
Condition: Good, traces of case colors, original finish in protected areas, smooth metal with no rust or pitting. Barrel, block, and plate finish gun metal, minor oxidation in places. Action mechanically very good. Bore shows full lands and grooves, with oxidation. Peak of the stock was rounded in a period user-preference modification as is visible in the photos.
