LIEGE BELGIUM LARGE BORE PERCUSSION TURN-BARREL BOX LOCK CENTER HAMMER BELT PISTOL WITH BELT HOOK CA. 1840’S-50’S. 8” o/a with 4” round .69 caliber smoothbore barrel. Lightly engraved lock and bag shaped walnut grip. Barrel proofed with small letter “T” stamp. Very good overall with medium grey original patina. Grip with the original aged varnish. Working order and good bore. Very popular and inexpensive pistol many of which imported to the United States during the Civil War. Unusual because of the large bore which would take a .69 cal. standard musket ball thus being popular as a private side arm for the military. Working order with dark but good bore.
