This is a classic Zimmerstutzen with 8" rifled barrel in 4mm, highly accurate for the competitive shooting at home in the dining room or local taverns of old Europe. It features adjustable double set triggers, classic adjustable large disc peep sight, checkered thumb rest, and prominent cheek piece. Barrel overall length is 26" and it weighs in at a bit over 9 lbs. Overall condition is good to very good with descent barrel blue, a few dings in the stock, and tarnish on lower lever and schutsen but plate. Sample of old time targets and ammunition that can still be purchased are included. The Zimmerstutzen or Parlor Rifle is a product of the society of the 19 century, when shooting was at its zenith the world over, and shooting champions were superstars of the day. They came into being and popularity in the period immediately following the invention of the rimfire cartridge. But these rifles laid the groundwork for the precision 10 meter target air guns we enjoy today.
