This Colt was produced in 1918. The Pistol's grip strap military serial number is 5762. The frame serial number is 155563. This Colt is in as issued condition. It has the correct war time finish. This finish would rate a 95% overall condition. The only real wear is by the grip straps. The grip straps on the front and back show mostly browning from finish wear. The bore and cylinders have no pitting or frosting. The chambers and bore are bright and shiney. The wood grips are serial numbered to this pistol and are in fine condition. The action locks up tight and is in fine timing. The originaL holster is by Grafton & Knight and is dated 1917. The half moon clip carrier is by R.H. Long Dated 1917 ? The Ammunition is by Remington - U.M.C. dated 1918. The lanyard is original World War One issued. The belt is unmarked or unreadable. It is very hard to find a low serial numbered Model 1917 pistol! Most of the early serial numbered pistols were shipped to France and saw hard service. This Colt has been well cared for and has survived in very fine condition! The pistol belt rig also came with this Colt. Here is a fine example of an original as issued World War One pistol rig that was used in the Great War!
