"Wesson percussion target rifle. Barrel marked “Wesson, Hartford CT". This is a .36 caliber bore. Barrel length is 28½". Gun has adjustable double set trigger. Frame, hammer and trigger guard are engraved. Beautifully figured stock with German silver patch box. Buttplate and oval engraved inlay on left-side of stock. Gun has a hooded front sight with post and a folding “lollipop" peep rear sight. Rifle weights 9.5 lbs. Barrel has a very good bore with strong rifling. And a pleasing even light brown patina. Overall a very handsome early percussion Wesson rifle.
