Description:
This is one beautiful and rare Remington Custom Shop 22's. It has perhaps the prettiest wood of any deluxe special order Remington I've ever seen. It is also chambered in 22 short only which leads me to believe that it could be a special order piece for a gallery or parlor. The wood is reminiscent of lighter highly figured European Walnut seen on early "C" grade custom shop Remingtons. On the inside of the forearm it's marked with a "3" and there is a "3" stamped by the safety on the trigger guard. I believe that these markings may indicate that it has "C" grade stocks rather than the later "B" grade deluxe offering Remington had with darker American Walnut. This little 241 is special.
The overall condition is very good with very little ware to the blue and wood. There is only a little freckling on the right side of the receiver near the top sharp edge as pictured. It is pretty hard to see. The wood has a few handling marks with the most noticeable being a contusion above the checkering on the left side of the forearm, which may be fixable. The bore looks like new. The action is clean, tight and smooth. So is the takedown mechanism. Please see the pictures and ask any questions.
