Description:
This is a seldom found Marlin 1891 2nd Model Deluxe .22. It has a rare 24" heavy barrel only found on early examples of Marlin lever action 22's. The Cody letter shows it was shipped 9/7/1894 in it's current configuration.
It's in overall good condition for being 126 years old. In addition to the special order checkered wood, it has a Lyman Combination front sight and a Lyman rear rang sight. The metal shows an original mostly brown antique patina. The checkered stock has nice varnish and no apparent cracks. The forearm shows more ware than the buttstock. The action is smooth and has a finely tuned trigger like most early Marlins I have handled. The bore is clean with decent riflings. Please see the pictures and ask any questions you have.
