The Model 1867 pistol uses a .50 caliber Remington Pistol Center Fire cartridge. It could be said that there was in reality no 1867 Model since the 1867 pistols were contract alterations of the Model 1865. From Flayderman’s: In the late 1860s, Remington produced the first of its rolling block pistols, the 1865 Navy chambered in .50 caliber rimfire. These were modified to the 1867 Navy, chambered in .50 caliber centerfire, and all were government contracted for. They were all marked with the Navy inspection marks “P / FCW” on the right side of the frame. This pistol would have been in service as the US Navy sent expeditions to Southeast Asia to places like Formosa (which is modern day Taiwan) and Korea, where armed conflict resulted on both occasions. The top of the barrel is stamped with an anchor while the underside reads “1848”. The right frame is stamped “F.C.W.”, for USN Ordnance Inspector Frank C. Warner. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is mostly bright with good rifling. Lots of blue finish and some case colors are visible. Here is a chance to own a truly rare and interesting specimen from Remington! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7 inches. Caliber: .50 Centerfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
