Description:
Very rare and neat old Colt SAA up for sale!!  Nickel 1st Gen in 45 Colt with the desirable 4 ¾” barrel.  This one was made in 1940 which puts it the last year of the 1st Gen production.  These late 1st gens are very hard to find as they were not producing very many during these last years (less than 525 according to literature).  4 3/4" barrel and 45 caliber is the most desired.  Don’t miss your chance to own this one.  See the pics for the best description.  Has the correct two line barrel address with the longer caliber roll mark “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 45” that Colt changed to in 1929.  Has matching serial numbers in all the correct places for this year and the assembly numbers on the gate and frame also match (gun is correct).  If you know your Colt history then you already know this after looking at the pictures.  Some nickel flaking on the cylinder and in a couple places on the frame but not bad for an 80 year old gun and adds to its character.  It has been fired in the past but I have not and the bore looks great. What makes this one even more special is this actual Colt SAA was in the personal collection of Major General John Bianchi who is known for his passion of the American West as well as his service to this country and his Frontier Gunleather business which produces quality leather products for firearms.  It also spent 35+ years in a museum so others could enjoy seeing.

The Colt comes with the documented provenance that shows it was owned by John Bianchi and showcased at the museum. Also included is a couple of signatures, a biography of Bianchi, a description of the Frontier Gunleather, photos showing him in both his Service uniform and his old west attire.  All documentation is on quality photo paper and the certificate is on certificate paper (very professional and genuine).
Additionally, a quality Bianchi leather holster for the Colt SAA is included and the gun fits nicely and looks great.  There is also a copy of the email correspondence from Colt Archives that shows that although they do not possess the records for shipment destination for this year, they do know when this Colt was built and sent to the shipping department.  I will also forward the email I received from Colt to the new owner.

This is a great Colt SAA not only because of its affiliation with Bianchi and the Museum but because of the limited amount of late first gens produced and the quality of these years.
Shipping is $45 from FFL to FFL.  Insurance extra if desired.  I accept Postal Money Orders, Certified Funds, personal check (item shipped after funds clear).  Layaway available if interested in that option.
See pictures for the best description and ask questions if you have them.  I can email more pics if needed and can answer by phone or email.  Will mail all items together and sold as is.  I respond promptly so check your spam folder if you don’t see a response in a couple hours.  Great piece of history and a good addition to any collection. feel free to make an offer!
