c1800 Very Concealable Sidearm
Here we present an antique European Flintlock Pistol, the type one might have kept concealed for personal defense, made circa 1800. French in style, this pistol features engraved iron hardware including the barrel, side plates, trigger guard, and pommel cap. The barrel is short, swamped and octagonal with a gaping .50 caliber bore. This is a very short pistol, in a way the forerunner of the pistol that Deringer would become so famous for in the United States. Large bore, compact, single shot, and a true manstopper.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong and tight. The bore is in good shape. The stock is solid all around. The barrel is lightly engraved with traces of gold remaining. A fantastic flintlock pistol for the collection!
