I believe this is a model 1869/71 Swiss Vetterli bolt action military rifle which holds 12rounds of10.4x38 mm rim fire cartridges. These were a very early bolt action tubular design which was advanced design for the to time period. This gun is in very good overal condition and functions fine. The stock is kfull length with good color and a few minor dents and a cartouche near the butt plate. The metal has most of its Finnish turning a smooth brown color and is has all of its markings Both sites are present and appear correct. Serial numbers appear matching. Although a cleaning rod is present I'm not sure if it's correct and the upper swivel is missing. A very nice early bolt action military rifle.
