Description:
Excellent Smith & Wesson No. 3,  "Third Model Russian Revolver",  Manufactured from 1874 to 1878, this example falls into the serial number range of 1-9000 units that were marked with the "REISSUE"  patent date at the end of the barrel rib marking instead of "RUSSIAN MODEL".
This grouping of 9,000 guns were presumably built for commercial sales. The butt is marked "1874" over the Serial number,  a Lanyard ring, and a small letter "P."

This RUSSIAN revolver has the  Spur-Trigger-Guard  that is found on the No. 3,  Second Model Russian and a short extractor housing.
Serial number  "4219" is found on the butt, cylinder, barrel, and the barrel latch.

Excellent antique condition. This revolver retains 97%  of the  Original Nickel finish showing some loss at the muzzle and some light flaking. The hammer and trigger guard retain 50% original case colors. The grips are 2-piece Pearl...  Mechanically excellent.  $5,300.
