Description: Antique English Screw-off Barrel Boxlock Percussion Pocket or Muff Pistol, by John Egg of London, approx. .44 cal., 1-1/2” octagonal barrel without sights; delicately floral engraved frame is marked “John Egg” on left and “London” on right; with dolphin-engraved hammer; folding trigger automatically drops when hammer is cocked; barrel and frame are numbered “2” at bottom; finely checkered dark hardwood bag-style grips have an engraved buttcap and an oval silver wrist escutcheon with a tiny name that appears to be “Mrs. Edgar” engraved on it. Condition is very good. Metal with sharp engraving, lines and edges; barrel with some tiny spots of light pitting; grips with intermittent small handling marks.
