Description: This first generation Colt Single Action Army was manufactured in 1906. It is also known as a SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, and M1873. This is a single-action revolver with a revolving cylinder holding six .38 WCF cartridges. It has matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard, and back-strap. The original markings remain clearly legible, including the barrel address, patent dates, and serial numbers. All screws show very little wear. The Colt SAA was designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company. The Colt SAA has been offered in over 30 different calibers and various barrel lengths. Its overall appearance has remained consistent since 1873. Colt has cancelled its production twice, but brought it back due to popular demand. The revolver was popular with ranchers, lawmen, and outlaws alike, but as of the early 21st century, models are mostly bought by collectors. The Colt SAA "Peacemaker" revolver is a famous piece of Americana. This fine example has the original length of barrel issued to the U.S. Cavalry at 7 1/2". .38 WCF SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Chambers: 6 Metal Condition: Fair. Very little original bluing left.
