Description:
This is a very unique special order Marlin 1891 with nickel trim made in 1892. It's reciever, buttplate and forearm cap are all original factory nickel plated. It has the ability to shoot 4 different cartidges, 32 Colt long or short as well as 32 Rimfire long or short by easily changing the firing pin. Currently it has a rimfire firing pin in. It has a finely tuned trigger like most very early Marlins I have handled. This is truly a rare special order antique Marlin that can be shipped directly to you as long as your local laws allow it.
The overall condition is grear considering it is 118 years old. The Nickel remains very strong for it's age. The blue is solid also with some areas of thinning and brown patina blending in. The wood is very good with scattered handling marks and some areas of thinning to the original varnish. The action is tight and smooth. The bore has strong riflings with apparent black powder scarring. Please see the pictures and ask any questions.
