Payment Types Accepted: AmEx, Discover, Master Card, Visa, Money Order, Certified Check, Personal Check (item held until check cleared) Description: Though the exact history of this arm is unknown, the boxed "SA" (Suomen Armeija, Finnish Army) stamp on the receiver suggests that it was originally deployed by the Russians, then captured by the Finns during the Continuation War (1941-1944), and in all likelihood promptly returned to the field against its former owners.  It is a rare example of an early WWII Russian Izhevsk Arsenal SVT-40 rifle manufactured in 1941. These SVT-40 rifles were highly prized by both the Finnish and German Army Snipers and were very effectively used throughout WWII due to their semi-automatic actions and the large capacity detachable box magazines.  The top of the receiver is stamped with the rare "Izhevsk Arrow inside a triangle" factory proof mark over "1941" for the year of manufacture. It also has the correct "boxed SA" Finnish capture/reissue proof mark stamped over the Russian serial number. The stock and handguard both appear to be Finnish field replacement parts, as they both are  unnumbered and unproofed (and have not been sanded). It has mixed (stamped, NOT electro-penciled) serial numbers on the various parts, which is correct for the Finnish captured and reissued rifles. It is fitted with the correct, early style, "six-slot" muzzle brake. It has an all-blued finish with the bolt cover and bolt correctly still in the white. The bore is very nice with strong rifling and no pitting. This rifle comes with its canvas sling and correct bayonet with scabbard.
