Early 1800s Antique PERKINS FLINTLOCK .45 Caliber Single Shot Belt Pistol
.454 Bore Octagonal Barrel
Here we present an antique Perkins Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early-19th Century. This large bored pistol would have been intended for use as a self-defense firearm. It is a medium sized flintlock, being able to fit into a large pocket or more likely in a belt. Its barrel is an average to large size 8-3/4 inches in length. This pistol has a .45 caliber bore and would have been most at home tucked into a gentleman’s belt when not punching large holes.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong and tight. The bore is bright throughout with excellent rifling. The checkering on the grip is very sharp. There is a minor repair to the barrel wedge “keyhole” of the stock. There is a small split from the lock screw on the left side. “PERKINS” is engraved on the lock with other floral patterns on the trigger guard, hammer, and barrel tang. This hearty flintlock pistol will be a great addition to your collection!
