#44733, Al Biesen Gunmaker Spokane, Wn: A Total Custom by Al Biesen in 375 H&H on a Winchester Pre-War Model 70 Action, The action was made in 1942 as a 300 H&H or 375 H&H long action, 22" barrel, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 3 folding rear sights, Barrel sling eye, Band front ramp with a fold up night sight, Large barrel lug on the bottom of the barrel, Complete engraved Model 70 bottom metal, A 3-position Model 70 wing safety, Four panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, Model 70 trigger, Jeweled bolt and follower, Action rails inside and out are polished, Built-up & checkered bolt stop release, Pre-war rear tang with the rear guard screw hole plugged, A pure Biesen Custom Classic style stock, Biesen classic full wrap around Fleur-De-Lis checkering with a slightly deep recess, No cheekpiece, Ebony forend tip, Biesen skeleton grip cap with wood checkering, 14 5/16" LOP over a 1" leather pad with plugs for easy of removal, 8 lbs. 15 oz., The bore is as new, The entire floorplate and trigger guard are very nicely engraved with a Gold inlaid Grizzly bordered in Gold line. The trigger guard has the initials "CFG" in Gold, The original Biesen blue remains at 99%, The original stock finish at 96%, The checkering is at 99%, This piece is almost like new. This is very accurate engraving and obviously done by someone with a German influence in style and execution. Mr. Al Biesen is the Norman Rockwell of custom bolt rifles in America and his merits are covered extensively in the pages of Jack O'Connor and the Gun Digest.
