Offered for is a U. S. issue H. Aston Model 1842 “Horse Pistol” in .54 caliber manufactured from 1851 to 1852, only about 6000 to these pistols were produced. These single shot pistols were the first percussion pistols issued to the U. S. military
Pistol has no bluing and shows sign of wear for its age and use.
