Description:
"This Springfield Model 1816 musket is dated 1838 on the lock and barrel. The 42" round .69 caliber barrel has a good bore. Has been arsenal converted using the Belgian method (cone in barrel). The bright metal is smooth with brown staining. The cone is broken off in its seat. The forward band spring “tit" is missing. The stock is good with a visible cartouche. There is a glued repair running from the rear of the lock around to the side plate. There are chips missing in the trigger guard area and at the middle band, there is a hole approximately ⅛ in diameter to the right of the trigger. The ramrod and swivels are present. Fill that hole in your collection at a reasonable price.
