"Overall length is approximately 47½". The 32⅝" round .50-70 Centerfire caliber barrel has a fair bore with pitting in the grooves. All the metal has a brown patina. The wood is good with issue dents and dings, wood loss at the forearm junction with the receiver, and wood loss along the cleaning rod channel. The cleaning rod is a replacement. The right side of the receiver has an eagle/ “USN"/ “Springfield"/ “1870", The anchor on the barrel is defaced. The rear sight slide is absent. The bayonet lug is present. The action functions correctly. This is a representative example of the 1870 Navy rifle that could fill the hole in your collection.
