Colt 1851 Navy .36 caliber revolver. Barrel address is “Col. SamL Colt New York U.S. America". Numbers all match including the wedge. Barrel has approximately 80% plus factory blue. Cylinder has approximately 90% blue. Note: Cylinder scene is very good and visible. The cylinder does have numerous small nicks and dents. Frame has approximately 30% case colors. Loading lever is unnumbered and has 95% bright case colors. Bore is excellent with strong rifling and is mostly bright. Action works, locks up and indexes perfectly. Grips are good with some handling wear, no chips, cracks or repairs but have ding and dent handling marks and have approximately 80-85% varnish. The case in our opinion was possibly made by the owner of the revolver, but certainly not factory made and difficult to assess the age. The flask is a correct 1851 Colt flask. The very good plus bullet mold is a correct Colt’s patent mold. Cap can is correct Eley can with good label. The skin cartridge pack is empty of cartridges but is correct for the revolver. Packet is marked “Whitneys or Colts Navy Pistol". Box is excellent. Very good overall cased 1851 Navy and reasonably priced.
