Description:
A.H. Fox 12 Gauge XE Grade. Deeply cut engraved Fox with 32" barrels. Slightly raised, matted rib with front ivory bead sight. Barrels are stamped Krupp Fluid Steel and MADE BY A. H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA, on both sides of the rib. The breech ends are engraved with second generation "X" grade 2" triangles of large shaded scroll and acanthus. Double triggers with case hardened action features automatic safety (SAFE engraved). Nearly full coverage engraving on action of open scrolling acanthus which surround vignettes of snipe on left and grouse on the right. Deep engraving throughout this gun and the fences are also engraved with acanthus. ANSLEY H. FOX is engraved over both bird scenes while the bottom plate has an oval containing a fox. Exceptional woodwork on a beautiful European walnut stock. Extra long splinter forend with inset schnaneled ebony tip that is checkered to match the buttstock.
