Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this stunning first genny Colt decked out in nickel, stag, and master engraving. This fine wheel gun, made in the year of our Lord 1906, is a sight to behold. The nickel is about 100%, without even a turn line on the cylinder. The nicely detailed engraving, executed by master engraver Walter T. Shannon, likely completed in the 1970's. All that, and a very good condition wooden case. She is chambered in 38-40 Winchester, one of my favorites. It is actually a full .40 caliber, but Winchester didn't wish to confuse 40-40 with 44-40. The barrel is gunfighter length at 4 3/4 inches. The bore has a fair amount of shine, some pitting, and distinct rifling. The genuine stag grips are hand filling, and are very neatly scratch numbered to the gun. I find it difficult to photograph nickel guns. So, if you like the photos, you will like the actual gun even more. While any engraved Colt is a good investment, nickel wheel guns with a known master engraver really command the lofty prices. If you have been looking for a cased, engraved Colt, but don't want to break the bank, then look no further.
