Description:
.69 caliber, 42" barrel (RIFLED) secured by three bands and fitted with the long-range arsenal sight. Percussion lock dated " 1854". Full length walnut stock bearing the U.S. inspector's cartouche on the left side. Approx. 14,000 muskets were altered by the Arsenal's by rifling the barrels and fitting the folding sight. Very fine original condition with crisp stamps and wood. Very nice bore.
