#5959, John Rigby & Co. 43 Sackville St. London W: A John Rigby Intermediate Mauser Action in 275 Rigby (7x57 Mauser) built in 1951, 25" barrel with a band island rear sight with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Front ramp with a sight protector, Barrel sling eye, Talley quick detachable lever bases and 1" rings, Mauser Action, Modern bolt sleeve with a 3-position Model 70 type safety, Non-hinged floorplate, A lightning cut inside on the front tang of the magazine box, Nitro proved in London, The stock inside has the Rigby number, It has a classic Rigby stock, Wrap around point pattern checkering, A fairly nice piece of wood, 14 3/8" L.O.P. over a checkered steel buttplate, 7 lbs. 11 oz., Nice internal inletting, Glass bedded at the recoil lug, The blue overall at 98% on the barrel and action, The wood finish remains at 97%, The checkering remains at 99%, The bore is excellent from throat to muzzle. The whole is cased in a full-length canvas trunk with a trade label. I don't know where this gun has been, but it wasn't hauled around India or Africa.
