Description:
Interesting Colt Model 1849 London. 6" bbl. .31 cal. 1853 manufacture. Gun is in very good condition. Very visible cylinder scene. About 20% case color left. Back strap and trigger guard are excellent, as are grips. Barrel has basically turned silver. Gun is 100% original, untouched. All matching numbers. According to Bob Jordens book, Colts Pocket '49, Baby Dragoon & Wells Fargo, there were only 265 of these very early 1849s that were hand inscribed. Even rarer is that this one is left hand inscribed! Only a handful were left hand inscribed. The case is an original London case w/accessories, case was probably relined at some point. The case and accessories alone are almost worth the cost of the whole package.
