Description:
SOLD...REDUCED PRICE...Really nice and clean Antique 1876 Winchester.. Very nice and never messed with 1876.. Has the standard 28” octagon barrel and the very sought after 45-60 caliber.. This is the best shooting caliber for the 1876's.. S/N 30654 and was made in 1882.. The bore is VERY good to fine.. It shows strong and full rifling with just very little roughness and frosting.. NO rings or bulges.. No big pits at all.. One of the best bores I have seen in an 1876 as most of these have rather rough and pitted bores. The gun is in excellent mechanical condition and it feeds, fires and ejects perfectly.. NO bulged cases or backed out primers.. Head space is perfect. This gun shoots great with my cast bullet hand loads with black powder.. The gun does have some thinning blue on both sides of the receiver and side covers and traces of blue along the bottom barrel flats where protected by the mag tube.. Photo number 3 shows this a little on the right side and I took the photo with a shadow and it is not discolored, it is just a shadow so you can see the blueing a little better.... Most of the blue remains on the lower tang also.. I can send many more photos of every inch of this gun if you need more photos.. 15 photos is just not quite enough to get all around these big rifles.. The balance of the gun is a wonderful plum brown patina that has never been cleaned on or messed with.. No pitting on the gun at all.. Has the original rear ladder style sight marked 1876.. The front sight is the globe style but it is missing the flip up globe section.. so it will need a front sight.. I don't think I have one in my stock but might have one before it sells.. All the screw heads are clean and sharp and nothing burred up from tinkering. Both hammer notches are perfect and positive.. The original dust cover retracts properly with the lever throw. All the markings are excellent. The wood is really nice also.. The forearm fits full, tight and proud to the forearm cap and receiver.. NO splits or cracks and shows just minor light dings.. Never sanded on or messed with.. The butt stock also fits full, tight and proud to the receiver and even at the upper and lower tangs. Also fits full and tight to the butt plate as well.. NO splits or cracks and shows very light honest dings and a small line impression on the lower left side.. This 76 has very nice, clean and full wood with no issues.. This is a very nice and 100% honest untouched 76 but for the front sight.. Well above the average dirt brown ones with rough bores.. These are getting very hard to find that I can still sell in the reasonable price range.. Shop around and compare and then call me.. You don't want to miss this one. !!!! 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos.. $50 insured shipping and packed with care.. I am staring to thin out my 30 plus year collection so check my listings often or call me with your want list as I probably have it.. Thank you for looking as always..
