. Colt Police Positive that was manufactured in 1928, chambered in .38 special and was issued to the Westchester County Police in New York. This Colt was "number 42" as shown by the stamp on the bottom of the frame as shown. The Colt shows lots of blue loss from it's service years. But there's no pitting to be seen on the metal. The cylinder locks up tight and the trigger pull is smooth in both double and single action. The bore has good rifling but does show frosting. The grips are worn but, aren't cracked and appear to be original to this Colt. All in all this is a cool old Colt with a law enforcement history. These retired police guns are desired andd highly collectible. So if you're looking for a nice old Cold for home defense or want to own a piece of police history, this would be a great choice !!
