Exhibition Upgrade 1959 Belgium Browning Superposed 20ga Sideplate Bill Mains Master Engraved Carved Stocks RKLT 14.5" LOP 26.5" Barrels Mod/IC Choked.
This gun was custom upgraded and engraved by master engraver Bill Mains, known mostly for his work with the Colt factory from 1967-1972, engraving a number of 2nd Generation Single Action Army revolvers, and the Ithaca Gun Company, engraving their single barrel trap guns. His work is quite exceptional and very few parts of this gun remain untouched by him!
The added sideplates, skeletonized release lever, added cocking indicators, and exhibition quality carved stocks are welcome and attractive additions that you rarely see on superposed shotguns due to their cost and complexity.
Overall this piece is quite exceptional, Wood and metal remain in what I would consider 98% condition and mechanically the gun feels as if it was built yesterday. The checkering, sitting around 24 lines per inch, and carving are still sharp and feel amazing in your hands while handling what I would consider art in gun form.
