"U.S. Model 1861 Rifle Contracted by C.D. Schubarth. U.S. Model 1861 Rifle contracted by C.D. Schubarth with a rare Snider Conversion with a ladder rear sight with Farsi numbering for elevations. Some literature says that after the Civil War Colt Converted 20,000 1861 Model rifles. Other information says the rifles were converted in England or in countries equipped to do Snider Conversions. This is a hard to find contractor rifle and even more unusual with the Snider Conversion. Regardless of who or where it was converted. Overall very good condition with excellent bore!
