"10th Cavalry Marked Spencer Model 1865 Saddle Ring Carbine. .52 caliber with a 20" barrel. Approximately 30% of the finish remains on the barrel. Frame has faded case colors. Wood is very good and has been arsenal refurbished. Cartouche is “ESA" and is still present. Left hand side of the stock has the 10th Cavalry Marking. The 10th Cavalry, also known as the Buffalo soldiers, was made up of the black soldiers. These units saw hard fighting against the Indians and were in some of the most unsavory places. A very desirable gun!
