Description:
Exceptional and large mortar and original pestle. A rare find with documented provenance. Mr. Tomasini purchased 60 acres in the late 1940s after he returned home from World War II. The property is located about 5 miles north of Calistoga, California on the east side of Highway 128 on the borderline of Napa and Sonoma counties. The mortar and pestle, along with some arrowheads, were found in an oak grove near Creek Field with steel heads on the farm. We acquired from the son. 16" x 14" x 15
