Description:
Pre-War 2” Colt Official Police. The serial number dates manufacture to 1938. Appears to have the original finish in very good condition with only light signs of normal wear/use, typical for a 83 year old revolver. With an estimated total production run of between 250 to 500 snubbies, this is one of most scarce and sought after of all Pre-War Colt revolvers. The Colt Archive letter confirms original configuration, "shipped to Shapleigh Hardware on 2/21/1939", and is on order. Will forward to buyer upon receipt. It’s incredibly difficult to find an example listed for sale in any condition, and possibly be years before you see another. Only reason I'm selling this one is that I'm lucky enough to have another "NIB" example in my safe (that I paid nearly $6K for). As always, I offer a 3 day inspection period with full refund (minus shipping) if not completely satisfied with the purchase.
