Description:
Scarce and highly sought after Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 in powerful .375 H&H Magnum caliber. S/N 254*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1953. This rifle has a low comb stock which is much harder to find than the Monte Carlo style with its slight rise to the cheekpiece. It has taken me nearly 2 years to locate a good one and this is it! An especially nice example showing 97-98% original finishes throughout. There have been NO alterations of any kind, and there are NO cracks whatsoever. The solid red recoil pad is factory issue as on all 375s, still soft and undistorted at the heel. The 6W two leaf flip up rear sight is like new with a strong spring and positive stop. The 25" barrel has an excellent bore and all mechanical functions are smooth and correct. For over 100 years and counting, the 375 H&H has had no peer when it comes to hunting large and dangerous game. It is repeatedly voted the #1 all around caliber choice of Professional Hunters, Guides, and dangerous game cullers by an overwhelming margin. This is one of the best I have had.
