I am the first to admit that I do not know all that I should know about 1911 and 1911A1 pistols; all of the fine details and all of the correct/not correct parts, but.. This pistol appears to be a mostly correct 1944 manufactured 1911A1 Remington Rand. The frame serial number is correct for the period. The trigger, the spring housing the grip safety, the slide stop all appear to be correct. The hammer however, does not appear to be correct. “AA” stamped above the front of the trigger guard stands for the Augusta Arsenal so I will assume that the pistol was refurbed there! The magazine has an “R” stamped on the lip which should be correct. The slide looks right. The barrel is a Flannery which may or may not be original, but it is correct. I think the barrel bushing has been replaced. All in all, this 1911A1 is a nice example of a 1943 WWII pistol by Remington Rand that is in 90-95% condition. $1,750.00 SN: 1928737 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
