<<<<SOLD>>> A very unusual smooth bore of about 16 ga., 46 1/2'' octagon barrel with an oxidized bore. The barrel shows a nice damascus twist pattern its full-length with a wavy matted top surface and has only a simple brass bead front sight. The tang and bolster show light case-hardening as does the ''Barnett London'' lock and percussion hammer, the lock marking only barely readable and is likely a modern reproduction lock. The brass buttplate, brass triggerguard and down-folding scallop shell patchbox are a goldenrod patina. The European walnut stock rates very fine showing only light handling marks and flaking, much original varnish and a checkered wrist. There is an iron ramrod included.The lock seems to function well with a very robust hammer spring Tis is what is called "reach out and touch someone" long barrel. Interesting lomng barrel field gun.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
